Rejoicing alumni returned to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for a festive Homecoming celebration. The warm glow of UNCG’s Oct. 2 bonfire—often recognized as the largest in North Carolina—set the tone for the two-day Spartan family reunion.
“This year we highlighted alumni across many aspects of Street Fest: our main stage performers were alumni, and all of our vendors and the majority of our food trucks were Spartan-owned,” said Alejandra Merheb, executive director of Alumni Engagement and Advancement Communications. “We showed the depth and breadth of our alumni community!”
College Avenue transformed into “Spartan Way” for the weekend. Across the campus, generations of graduates reconnected with department professors and staff, caught up with old friends, lined up at food trucks, and gathered at fraternity and sorority cookouts which drew hundreds of attendees.
