The Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, improve to 2-0 in the regular season, while the Bulls (Chicago Bulls affiliate) slide to 0-3.

Greensboro jumped out to an early lead in the contest and surmounted a 13-point advantage in the opening frame. The Swarm found offensive success down low in the opening half and recorded 40 of the team’s 53 points in the paint. However, Windy City’s Chris Clemons led all scorers at the break with 16 points. Clemons would go on to record a game-high 30 points in the defeat.

While the Swarm led for the majority of the game, only losing the lead once to the Bulls, Windy City opened the second half with a 16-4 run to take its first lead since the opening minutes of the contest. The Bulls closed out the quarter with a narrow two-point lead after outscoring Greensboro 36-28 in the frame.

Swarm guard Terrell Brown Jr. matched a season-high 22 points and was the catalyst for the Swarm’s comeback in the fourth period. Trailing throughout the quarter, Greensboro closed Windy City’s lead late and forced a timely turnover to draw within two points in the closing minutes. Both teams tied for the lead three times in the final minute as the game seesawed. Then with 2.6 seconds remaining, Greensboro’s Jaylen Sims attacked the basket and drew a goaltending penalty on the Bulls at the buzzer to seal the victory.

In addition to Brown Jr.’s offensive output, five Swarm players recorded double-digit point performances: Jeremiah Tilmon (20 points), Amari Bailey (17 points), Marcus Garrett (17 points), R.J. Hunter (14 points) and Sims (14 points). Tilmon has recorded three games with 20-plus points in his last four games.

Windy City saw five players in double-figures, led by Clemons. Henri Drell had 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, Quenton Jackson recorded 17 points, Jalen Harris and Keifer Sykes had 12 points each and Derrick Favors notched 11 points in 25 minutes played.
