Eric Benét, Chante Moore bring soul serenade to alumni set

Eric Benét needs no introduction, but his return is worth celebrating.

After an eight-year hiatus, the Milwaukee native is back on the road with his 2025 album “Co-Star.” Benét will bring his blend of soul and R&B to the Aggie Alumni Homecoming Concert on Friday, Oct. 10, marking it a highly anticipated stop on his U.S. tour.

Benét rose to prominence with his 1996 debut “True to Myself,” and his 1999 hit “Spend My Life With You,” featuring Tamia, cementing him as a household name.

The chart-topping single earned him a Grammy nomination and an NAACP Image Award, just one highlight in a career that has expanded beyond music into acting, television production and philanthropy.

The Aggie Alumni Homecoming Concert will include dinner for all ticket holders at 7:15 p.m., followed by the performance at 8:30 p.m. in the Guilford Ballroom at the Koury Convention Center.

Joining Benét on stage is another powerhouse: Chanté Moore. With more than three decades in music, Moore has released a steady string of Billboard R&B chart-toppers and collaborated with icons such as El DeBarge, the Isley Brothers and Kenny Lattimore.

Reflecting on her longevity during an appearance on the “Tamron Hall Show,” Moore said, “I’m really grateful I get to do this for a living, it’s a blessing and honor. That’s what I love — giving it all that I have.”

Benét also recalled their early interactions during the same appearance.

“Chanté was this person I would always see at events and award shows,” he said, “and we would be like, ‘We got to get in the studio.’”

Ticket prices start at $225. Contact Alumni Relations at 336-433-5570 or alumni@ncat.edu.
