The Adidas Track and Field competition took place from June 18 to June 21 at the Marcus T. Johnson Track Complex on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University. This track is the only venue in the United States to host all levels of national track and field competition. This Adidas competition was for all high school athletes eligible to compete. Athletes run either unattached or as a part of a club. Adidas is not a school sanctioned event, and no college or post-high school athletes were allowed to participate.
To qualify for the Adidas, all athletes must meet the championship standard and rank inside the top 15 two weeks prior to competition. National Elite and Freshmen Elite athletes qualified via the posted standard or by qualifying for their own state’s state meet.
Medals and All-American shirts were presented to athletes placing in the top six in the Championship Elite division. Other divisions received medals. Check out Carolina Peacemaker photos by photographer Kevin Dorsey below.
