The Big Hair Ball

The 12th Annual Big Hair Ball: A Couture Finale… Let’s Play is a glamorous glimpse of the creatively intense preparation of haute models and designs. This year’s Big Hair Ball was the grand finale after a dozen years.

The event is presented by the Guild and Junior Guild of Family Service of Greensboro Foundation. Organizers say that next year’s Big Hair Ball will evolve and expand on haute couture as the Bon Temps Ball. Details will come later this year.

This year’s couture finale included a cocktail reception followed by a runway fashion show featuring outsized hairdos and outré outfits created by Triad designers. Each model’s outfit is inspired by her sponsor – corporate or individual – as well as by the event’s theme. The models hailed from area high schools and all of them are on rigorous academic tracks.

The Big Hair Ball supports the Greensboro programs of Family Service of the Piedmont, the largest private nonprofit agency of its kind in Guilford County, serving thousands of children and adults each year.

Family Service addresses vital issues of domestic violence, child abuse, mental health and financial stability. To learn more, visit them on the web at: www. https://www.fspcares.org/.
