Rams Defeat Livingstone College on Homecoming

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University football team defeated Livingstone College 42-10 on homecoming Saturday afternoon inside Bowman Gray Stadium. The Rams improved to 4-4 (2-3 CIAA).

Inside the Numbers

Daylin Lee was 11-for-15 for 202 yards and two touchdowns.

JaQuan Kelly had 18 attempts for 142 yards and two touchdowns and Timothy Ruff II had 11 attempts for 135 yards and one touchdown.

Jayden Grimes had two receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown and Kaleb Washington had three for 31 yards and one touchdown.

Daniel Williams had 11 tackles (5 solo) and six assists.

The scoring started when Jayden Grimes had a 54-yard run to put the Rams up 7-0 with 14:00 to play in the first quarter. Finishing out the first quarter for the Rams, JaQuan Kelly had a 6-yard run to give the Rams a 14-0 lead with the extra point with 10:57 to play in the first quarter.

Livingstone College got on board with a field goal, trailed the Rams 14-3 with 7:16 to play in the first quarter. Noah Marshall had a 4-yard run to put the Rams up 21-3 with 4:30 to play in the second quarter.

Dayline Lee threw a 16-yard pass to Kaleb Washington to give the Rams a 28-3 lead over the Blue Bears going into halftime.

JaQuan Kelly had his second touchdown of the game when he ran for 12-yards to give the Rams a 34-3, lead with the extra point the Rams took a 35-3 lead with 6:49 to play in the third quarter.

Livingstone College scored a touchdown with 9:01 to play in the fourth quarter, Rams led 35-10. Timothy Ruff had a 20-yard rush to put the Rams up 42-10 with 3:56 remaining in the game.
