Winston-Salem Open: Donald Young upsets Pierre-Hugues Herbert

The second round of the Winston Salem Open began on Monday, August 22, highlighted by the tournament’s debut of No.1 seed and World No.15 Richard Gasquet.

The 30-year-old Frenchman won a three set victory over Daniel Evan of Great Britain 6-4, 4-6, and 6-3.

Play began with the return of 2015 Winston Salem Open runner-up Pierre-Hugues Herbert, who met American Donald Young in a second-round match on Center Court. Young defeated Herbert 6-4, 6-1. In 16 tournaments this season, Young has won $363,709 with a win-loss record of 15-16 in singles matches. He currently has an ATP ranking of World No.57.

Singles and doubles matches will continue through Thursday’s quarter-finals, Friday’s semifinals and Saturday’s championship match.
