Tarik Cohen makes NFL Pro Bowl

Posted

CHICAGO - Tarik Cohen, an A&T alumnus and runningback for the Chicago Bears, was voted to participate in the 2019 NFL Pro Bowl as a return specialist. While Cohen is certainly proud of being recognized as one of the best in the game this season, there’s a different bowl game he has his sights set on.

“Nobody wants to play in the Pro Bowl,” Cohen said Wednesday. “You want to go to the Super Bowl.”

Amen, Tarik.

Cohen’s sentiments were echoed by coach Matt Nagy, who beamed with pride for his players headed to Orlando — 12 in total when counting Pro Bowl alternates. But it’s clear the goal at Halas Hall is much bigger than any personal accomplishment.

“I think it’s great for our team, just to give credit to those guys for all their hard work,” Nagy said. “I also think it speaks volumes about their teammates because I think they’ll be the first to tell you that they couldn’t make it without their teammates and what they do. Our guys understand that.

“The neat thing with our guys too is they were happy about it, but just kind of meeting with the guys this morning, it’s nice, it’s a nice accolade, but we’re in this team thing together right now and we’re focused on trying to do the team thing.”

The team thing. That Super Bowl thing. The ‘win it all’ thing.
