Ring the Bell! School is Back in Session

New Superintendent Sharon Contreras visited a variety of schools across the district, wearing a dress designed by the students at Brooks Global Studies.

GCS First Day Fun Facts:

• 100 percent of classes had a full-time teacher staffed for the first day of school.
  
  
• GCS served approximately 44,000 lunches and 24,000 breakfasts on the first day of school.
  
  
• Nearly 600 buses traveled approximately 52,000 miles.
• 283 new teachers were trained this summer through GCS Induction and Success.
• Nearly 3,700 K-5 students attended the ACES program at 57 elementary schools.
