Riding to Remember Fallen Officers

Posted

More than three dozen Mecklenburg County law enforcement officers and friends rode into Greensboro on their way to Washington, D.C., in the 15th annual Bike to D.C. Ride of Honor to memorialize fallen officers.

Stopping for break at Governmental Plaza, the 40 riders met with Greensboro Police Chief Brian James, members of the department’s command staff and other officers.

Since 2007, the riders complete the 500-mile charity ride from Charlotte to Washington, stopping along the way to rest and stay overnight. In Washington on May 14, the riders and friends will attend a candlelight vigil and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
