The Page Pirates defeated the Ragsdale Tigers, 55-27, in a non-conference football game Friday night on their home field at Marion Kirby Stadium. Page scored on their first four possessions taking a 27-0 lead early in the second quarter. Page senior running back Javon Leake’s 70-yard opening kickoff return highlighted the early scoring.

On Ragsdale’s first offensive play, Page defensive back Tarvris Martin returned an interception 38 yards. Page led 13-0 with 11:05 minutes still remaining in the first quarter. Leake scored his second touchdown on a 17-yard scamper pushing the score to 20-0.

Wide receiver Ronald Polite completed the Pirates’ first half scoring on a 15-yard reception.

The Tigers played the Pirates 28-27 the rest of the game but couldn’t overcome the 27-point deficit. Leading the Tigers’ offense was senior running back Jarious Drayton with 14 carries for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Page improved to 3-1 while the Tigers fell to 1-3.

This week. the Pirates will stay home to face the Raiders of Reagan High School (Pfafftown). Ragsdale will travel to the So. Guilford Storm.
