High School METRO 4-A Basketball: Lady Panthers survive Pirates

The top seeded Dudley Panthers (17-7) trailed 50-44 with less than four minutes remaining. Over the last three minutes Dudley outscored Page 8-0 to claim the girls Metro 4-A title.

With the score tied at 50 all with 6.3 seconds remaining, Panthers’ point guard Teara Johnson was fouled on a drive. She missed the first and made the second free throw. After a Page timeout Dudley stole the inbound and Johnson was fouled again with 3.7 seconds remaining. She made one of two for the final score. Kelena Morris led the Panthers with 12 points and Kiara Harrison added 8 points. The Pirates’ (17-8) Kargo Bailey and Roxanna Pfenning each scored 16 points.
