Filing for the 2024 Elections opens this week

The filing period for candidates wanting to run for several elected offices in 2024 opened at noon, Monday, December 4, and will close at noon, Friday, December 15. The 2024 primary election is on March 5, 2024. The general election is November 5, 2024.

Candidates can file in person at the Guilford County Board of Elections offices in Greensboro and by appointment only at the High Point office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The following seats are among the races to be seen in the 2024 Elections: N.C. Senate (Districts 26, 27, and 28), N.C. House of Representatives (Districts 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, and 62), Guilford County Board of Commissioners (Districts 4, 5, 6, and 8), Guilford County Board of Education (Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7), and Register of Deeds.

U.S. House of Representatives and Judicial offices must file in Raleigh, N.C. with the North Carolina State Board of Elections.
