The WNCC endeavors to pay tribute to the life, legacy and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the official 2025 theme is: Honoring The Dream: Declaring our Faith, Proclaiming Our Hope and Pursuing Liberty and Justice for All. This theme highlights Rev. Dr. King’s fierce loyalty and commitment to end legalized racial segregation, discrimination and disenfranchisement.
Keynote speaker - Rev. Dr. Candace Lewis, 17th President Dean of Gammon Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Rev. Dr. Lewis is Gammon’s First Female President-Dean in its 138-year history.

King Day Parade
Greensboro chapter of the NAACP is hosting the 35th-annual Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Day Parade, Mon., Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. The parade will begin at the Benbow Professional Center on the 200 block of MLK Dr. It will route through downtown Greensboro to Gorrell St. Parade grand marshals are Jan Johnson with the NAACP and Trey Davis, the Greensboro City manager.

Volunteer training - Wednesday, January 22, 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The program is organized by Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University and HandsOn NWNC. Children between Kindergarten and 5th grade will be paired with a “Reading Buddy” who will lead them through various educational activities.
