The Guilford Native American Association celebrated its 39th annual Pow Wow. Native American tribes attending included Lumbee, Haliwa-Saponi, Cree, Algonquin, Coharie and Waccamaw-Siouan.
This year’s Pow Wow was dedicated to the late Ruth L. Revels, who served as executive director of the Pow Wow for 22 years.
Native American culture and heritage featured artists, drum groups, gospel singers, traders and American Indian Dance styles featuring Men’s Traditional Dance, Men’s Grass Dance, Men’s Fancy Dance, Women’s Traditional, Women’s Jingle Dress Dance, and Women’s Fancy Shawl Dance. The Pow Wow was held September 16-18 at Greensboro Country Park.
