A Sunny Day at Aggie FanFest

Posted

On a sunny Saturday August 24th, the Greensboro community gathered at Aggie FanFest hosted by CDK on the mic at the Truist Football Stadium at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University to celebrate and welcome the football, volleyball, cross country teams, cheerleading and the Blue and Gold Marching Machine band for the 2024-2025 season.  The Marching Machine gave a special performance for the crowd. Each team came out, got introduced and got to engage with family and friends in the community, who came out to support them.

A&T football player Corbin Wilson, a 6'3" wide receiver, said the team is very confident and prepared for the upcoming season. “This whole summer and during fall camp we have been chasing excellence and taking it day by day while building each other up as a team.”

There were a bunch of FanFest activities to keep the crowd engaged like music, food trucks, bounce houses, free giveaways and autograph signings by the athletes. Some organizations and departments came out to spread and share information about each of their services like, Cone Health, Step Up Greensboro, Cone Health Nutrition and Diabetes Education, and choice schools.

Representative from the Guilford County Schools (GCS) in the areas of mental health counseling, nutrition, homeless services and the English language learners department were also in attendance. The Greensboro Housing Authority provided school supplies and a food produce giveaway. Young kids in attendance received a free book bag with the school supplies. Food Lion also provided fresh fruit such as bananas and apples as well as bottled water. This was a great event to welcome all students back to school.
