Southern rains on Western

The Southern Guilford Storm rained on the Western Guilford Hornets 34-7 in a non-conference Mid-Piedmont 2-A football game Thursday night, Oct 1.
Senior running back Amon Harris led the Storm with 34 carries for 237 yards and three touchdowns. The Storm took the opening kickoff at the Hornets’ 32 yard line. Their advance on five plays was capped off by Rajon Knight’s six-yard scoring run. The Storm scored on a two -point conversion to lead 8-0. Meanwhile, Eduardo Turnbul’s 55 yard fumble return was the only Hornets score. Southern held Western’s offense to negative 21 total yards.
The Storm led 23-7 at the half before adding two more second half touchdowns.
Southern improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference while Western remains winless at 0-7, 0-2 in the Mid-Piedmont.
