Pride blitzed at home

The Greensboro College football team fell on homecoming Saturday against the Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan, 44-0.
On its first drive, the Bishops (3-3, 2-1 USA South) drove to the Greensboro 5-yard line. Josh Cross recovered the first fumble of the game to give the ball back to the Pride (1-6, 0-4 USA South).
Greensboro punted the ball back to Wesleyan after going three-and-out.
After the Pride punted the ball away, the Bishops were then able to score 17 unanswered points before Greensboro got its second takeaway of the contest.
However, the Bishops kept Greensboro off the board the remainder of the game to secure the shutout victory.
Greensboro’s Patrick Jesequel recorded a team-high 21 yards rushing on eight carries, while Derrin Little ran for 14 yards. Reynolds finished with a game-high 13 tackles, while Trey Cronin, T.J. Cox, and Jason Gerber each had seven tackles.
“Wesleyan is a really good football team,” Head Coach Greg Crum said. “I thought we were competitive for almost a half today. We have to get back to the drawing board and keep getting better.”
