The Page Pirates opened Metro 4-A play at home pounding Southeast Guilford 49-7 at Marion Kirby Stadium. The Pirates improved to 6-1, 1-0 while Southeast fell to 5-2, 0-1. The teams entered the second quarter tied at 7-7 before Page exploded for 28 unanswered points to lead 35-0 at the half.

Page sophomore running back Javon Leake rushed 13 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Diondre Overton had five receptions for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Junior quarterback Will Jones finished 13-of-16 passing for 248 yards and three touchdowns.

Page coach Kevin Gillespie said, “The defense played great and offensively, they [Falcons] didn’t stop us all night.”
