Greensboro Holiday Parade 2023

By Ivan Saul Cutler, Carolina Peacemaker / December 8, 2023

The festive Holiday Season began in Greensboro with a colorful parade of dancers, prancers, and a gaggle of entertaining enhancers of all kinds. The drizzle failed to put a damper on the day’s best event as Triad residents gathered along the parade route in downtown Greensboro to hear musicians in a host of bands, watch dancers showcase their perfected moves, and view large balloons as they traversed southward along Greene Street. The two-hour annual parade delighted youngsters and seniors, who cheered for the parade participants.

N.C. Agricultural & Technical State University’s band, The Blue and Gold Marching Machine along with the Golden Delight Dancers led the parade, providing a preview of its upcoming international performance on New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) when they will perform in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Ca.

Greensboro’s parade featured some spectacularly gigantic balloons such as The Cat in the Hat, a Gingerbread Boy and The Nutcracker, to name a few. Of course, jolly ’ole Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus took time out of his busy schedule to participate in the parade with Mrs. Claus at his side.

Don’t forget, Chanukah begins Thursday evening, Dec 7 to Thursday evening, Dec 14. Happy Holidays!
