Greensboro Holiday Parade 2019

Peacemaker Staff Reports / December 12, 2019

Parade attendees, young and old, lined the streets of downtown Greensboro on the morning of December 7 to celebrate the holiday season.

The Greensboro Holiday Parade has been a downtown tradition for decades, featuring huge Macy’s parade style balloons, marching bands, dance teams, floats and the grand finale, Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Holiday Parade 2019 Grand Marshal was Al Lineberry, owner of Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home.

The parade averages more than 60,000 spectators a year and is just one of a month-long of holiday themed events in the city, which include a tree lighting ceremony, a community sing-a-long and a seasonal outdoor skating rink, to name a few.
