Page sweeps double-header against Grimsley

In the boys’ nightcap between the Page Pirates and Grimsley Whirlies, Grimsley jumped out to an early lead, 16-8, before Page took its first lead, 24-27, on a three-pointer by Anthony Eaves in the second quarter. The Pirates were up by 11 points before the Whirlies closed to 51-45 with 4:32 remaining.

Freshman Ty Graves paced the Pirates with 23 points and Kylia Sykes added 11 points in a 64-53 Metro 4A Conference victory.

Grimsley junior Lucas Bouknight led the Whirlies with 15 points. Page improved to 10-3 while Grimsley fell to 4-8 overall.

The Page High School girls’ basketball team advanced its winning steak to 12 games with a 69-32 Metro 4A Conference victory over cross-town rival Grimsley Whirlies Friday night, January 4. Freshman guard Bailey Kargo led the Pirates with 24 points and Kayla Johnson added 14. Faith Pegues led Grimsley with ten points.
